Cherry Blossom Festival started today!

Today was the first day of the Cherry Blossom festival! The trees are beautiful, but will not be at their peak until later next week. The buds were tight today. The crowds were not bad when we arrived,but the people were arriving and there were big crowds by the time we left. We actually were able to walk most of the tidal basin and see the gift shop and where to rent the paddle boats (maybe next year) the crowds have been so large in the past it was hard to walk around with our children. The kids had a great trip and this was the easiest trip for Steve and I! Our first year with no stroller and no extra bags. We had a really good time!
