End of the school year 2008-2009

The blog has been on the back burner for a few weeks. School ending takes a great deal of energy and time. I am moving to a "learning cottage" trailer next year and every paper, book, and the supplies had to be packed up and ready to move out. I learned through this process that I have way too much stuff.

Caroline had her last day of Kindergarten today. I cannot believe her Kindergarten year is already over. It brings tears to my eyes that this little baby girl that I could hold in my arms is now ready for first grade. Caroline went into Kindergarten knowing how to write her name, count to 20 and read only a few words. Now she can count to 100 and beyond, write in a journal about almost any topic, and can read 81 words on her very own! Wow, she learned so much this year!

Carolines goals over the summer are to keep reading, writing, and doing some fun math. Caroline is also going to learn how to tie your own shoes. So a pair of shoes with laces are in order. She is also going to have a few chores to do every day so that she can help out some next year when school starts again. Finally, to have lots of fun playing!

Ryan's goals for the summer are to learn to dress himself with no help and to do it quickly including putting his shoes on the right feet. Enjoy good books read by his sister and Mom. We also hope that Ryan's speech continues to improve. To play and have tons of fun!

We have a big summer ahead of us! Caroline will go to Grammy's for VBS next week, then we have 2 beach trips coming up, and hopefully many days at the library and the pool!

My goal is to blog more this summer, takes lots of pictures, read some great books, clean out the closets, and enjoy every moment with Steve, Caroline, Ryan and the rest of our families! And of course, play and have fun every day!

Bring on the sunshine and let summer officially start!

They're getting SO big! I can't believe Caroline has one year of school under her belt. Great pictures!
