Christmas Pictures 2009

Christmas Pictures 2009
I started taking pictures tonight for our Christmas Card and Calendar for next year tonight! This was the easiest year yet! Caroline and Ryan were both in a good mood and cooperated. It helped that I bribed them with peanut butter pie if they did a nice job! I think I have some winners in the 171 pictures that were taken! The kids did get their slice of pie!

Our Thanksgiving Dinner!

It was just the four of us this Thanksgiving! We started our Thanksgiving meal this morning and had no real set time for dinner to begin. We had Thanksgiving around 1:30 today. We had vegetable casserole, sweet potato souffle, macaroni and cheese, dressing, gravy, cranberries and of course turkey! Steve made a chocolate peanut butter pie for dessert! We went around the table and shared what we are thankful for and Caroline shared facts about the first Thanksgiving! We missed being with our families, but enjoyed the day together! Here are a few photos from the day.

Caroline made placemats for the table, here is one she made for me!
Steve showing me that the mac and cheese is ready!

Carving the turkey, yummy!
All of us try to take a picture, before we say the blessing and begin eating!Caroline wanted a turkey leg, it is as big as she is!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!
We hope our friends and family have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving from our First Grader!

Today the First Grade celebrated Thanksgiving! Caroline's class were the Native Americans and the class next door were the Pilgrims. The Pilgrims came and had lunch with the Native Americans! The Washington Post came by and interviewed the teachers, and took pictures of the students. It will be in the paper on Sunday! Caroline brought in mashed potatoes and turkey slices for the feast! They had so much food, but all the children had a great time!

The Native Americans waiting on the Pilgrims to arrive! Look at the parents hard at work in the back ground. Steve is taking the pictures, he stayed clear of the chaos.

Happy Birthday Daddy sing a long!

After dinner we sang Happy Birthday to Steve! We could only find a 1 candle, Steve said it was because he is number 1! Wow, we must have really spoiled him today!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

It was Steve's Birthday today!
He came home this evening to hugs and hoorays from all of us! He opened his presents with some help from Ryan and Caroline and then we had a good dinner! We are so blessed to have Steve in our lives and we are happy we were able to celebrate his special day together!

Father Daughter Dance

Tonight was the Girl Scouts Father Daughter Dance! Caroline was so excited all day! We went to the store and picked up princess pink nail polish, hair rollers, and a new barrette for her hair. She wanted to wear her blue dress to match her eyes. Steve picked her up and took her to dinner before heading to the dance. I know they will have a great time!

Caroline goes to the eye doctor!

Caroline was having a hard time seeing the board at school so we had her eyes checked by our school nurse. She thought it was a good idea for Caroline to go to the eye doctor! Caroline went tonight and definitely needed glasses for seeing far away. She picked out a pair of glasses that has a butterfly on the side and are brown. She was so excited to wear her glasses when she got home that she wanted to watch TV from far back. Ryan went with us tonight to the eye doctor. Steve and Ryan were in the room with Caroline while she had her eyes tested. The doctor would put letters on the wall for Caroline to call out, only Ryan kept yelling the answers and did not let Caroline answer. Ryan had to leave the room and the office gave him some Lego's to play with.

Here is our sweet Caroline in her NEW glasses!

Happy Veteran's Day!

There are so many friends and family that have served our country. Thank you for keeping us safe and protecting the freedoms we have! It is a sacrifice for the one serving and for the family members that stand behind the one serving!

Thank you!

Halloween 2009

Caroline and Ryan had a great time Trick or Treating. We made it out before the rain came. They went to house to house and walked up a ton of steps. They had a good time talking to everyone and getting their treats!

The Candy Party after Trick or Treating. Caroline and Ryan had 30 minutes to eat all the candy they could and then the candy was put away. We gave our extra candy to the school for Treats for Troops! The candy will be sent to troops overseas, a great program and a great way to get the extra candy out of the house!

Ryan got a pair of eyeball glasses from one house. He loves the glasses!
