making pizza

Caroline and Ryan went to a friend's birthday party this afternoon. The party was at The Young Chefs Academy! They made their own pizzas and decorated a cupcake for their dessert! They had a great time! Double click on the collage and it will become larger and you can see all the pictures that were taken at the party!

Just a swingin

Before Caroline's softball game today we went to the park, beside the field. Caroline has finally learned how to swing by herself! A wonderful milestone for Mom and Dad! She now can swing for as long as she wants!

Another visitor in our yard

Last night we went outside to find two rabbits sitting on the sidewalk outside our house! We started to walk closer to them, and they started to hop away. We were able to stand and watch them for about 10 minutes before they finally decided to leave. The pictures are dark, but you can see the rabbits. We saw one of the rabbits again today and we placed some spinach leaves out front for them. We hope the continue to visit!

A surprise on our steps

We left the house this afternoon to go to Caroline's softball game and had a surprise waiting on us! This turtle was on our front steps! Caroline, Ryan, and I stopped for a few minutes to watch him. We stayed very still and so did he. He finally put his head in his shell. Ryan said, "he is so cute" and Caroline started asking all sorts of questions about turtles. We placed the turtle in the grass and went to the game, when we came back home we was gone. Maybe he will surprise us again another day!

outside

I took these two pictures of Ryan and Caroline while outside last night. Ryan was walking through the flower beds and Caroline had just come back from running up and down the street. She was very surprised when I took her picture.

Caterpillars

It is that time of year! Time for the caterpillars to be the center of attention when children go out to play! Caroline wants to go outside all the time and find them! She wants to play with them during school recess and at home. She gives them names and has Ryan as her assistant. He is in charge of bringing them back to the designated area if they start to crawl away. She loves to have them crawl up her arms and likes to place them on Ryan too. Ryan doesn't know if he likes this feeling or not. Ryan continues to let Caroline place them on his arms or legs, because he wants to do exactly what she does. Who knew Caterpillars could be so entertaining!

Softball on Tuesday

This game was so long! The girls only played 3 innings in an hour and a half! The girls seemed to need many pitches before hitting the ball. They played hard and had great attitudes, but they just had a hard time getting into a good groove. Caroline got hit by a ball before the game began and is now scared of the ball. She wants to turn her head and move instead of trying to hit the ball or catch it. She needs some more practice to build her confidence back up. She is a great sport though, after getting hit with the ball, she cried for a minute and picked up the ball and started playing again! We were very proud of her attitude! Our next game is today, so hopefully three innings will go by a bit faster! Ryan became bored of watching the game and played on the playground for over an hour. He felt this was a better way to spend the evening!

Caroline looks great as a catcher!

Mother's Day gifts

Caroline came home from school yesterday with a bag of goodies for me for Mother's Day! She could not wait for me to open her gift on Sunday and wanted me to open it after dinner last night. I did and these are the things she had made for me at school for Mother's Day!

The top picture is a flower. I think this is another piece of art that will be framed and hung on the wall (she made this in art class)! The second picture is a poem that she filled in, this was made in her Kindergarten class. Very funny! The third picture is a picture of Caroline and me (check out our eyelashes). Finally I received a tile that had a picture of me on it with the date and her name on the back! Wow, I am so blessed to have Caroline as my daughter! She has such a good heart and she was so happy for me to open all her gifts. She told me last night she loves Mother's Day and would be busy making me more things today! These are the gifts and memories I will cherish, because they came from the heart! God has blessed me with two great kids and a loving husband! What more could a mother want?

cupcakes

I brought home a few cupcakes from school on Friday for Ryan and Caroline to have after dinner. I love watching a child eat a cupcake. They start from the top, eating all the icing first and then finish with the cake. Icing is all over their fingers, cheeks, nose, and sometimes in their hair. It makes such a mess, but a good mess. Ryan loved his special treat!

rain rain go away

I could not help taking these pictures of Caroline and Ryan this past week when the sun finally decided to make an appearance through our windows! It has been such a rainy long week and when the sun finally did shine it made all of us happy. These small moments are so precious. Caroline and Ryan just laughing and being silly before dinner.

I was so thankful for the sunshine!
