Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had our Valentine's celebration last night after Steve came home from work. Caroline and Ryan helped to make brownies and were excited for Daddy to come home and see the table for dinner. Steve sent me flowers during the day (such a wonderful surprise) and they were placed in the center of the table. Caroline cleaned up the living room and dining room for me. She also made Valentine napkins with stickers on them and wrote Happy Valentine's Day. The napkins were perfect! We used our fine china and crystal! Our dinner menu was: prime rib (Thank you Mom!), green beans, and twice bake potatoes. Our dessert was brownies with ice cream, hot fudge, and strawberries. Ryan ate his dessert first and then ate his dinner.

While we had dinner together we all went around the table and told each person one reason we loved them. Caroline started and her thoughts were so sweet, just like her. Ryan went next and ran around the table giving hugs and saying, "I love you." Then Steve and I shared. It was a special dinner!

100th Day of School

Friday, February 13th was the 100th day of school!

Caroline smiles for the camera!

The kindergarten classes celebrated the 100th day in many ways this year. They counted 100 things( cotton balls, pennies, chocolate chips, etc), played games, had a 100th day parade in the hallways, and made 100th day T-shirts! Caroline was so excited about the 100th day of school that she was awake at 6 a.m. ready to go to school! Her teacher shared with me that some children (not Caroline) thought the 100th day was the last day of school and were a little disappointed to know they had to come back next week. It was a fun day!

The Boys Took a Trip to Papa's House

Steve and Ryan went to see Papa last weekend and went by airplane! This was Ryan's first airplane ride and he loved every minute of it! The boys had a good time seeing Papa and Nana, Aunts, Uncles, and cousins! Ryan had a box to ride down the hill and even got to sleep in Papa and Nana's bed one night. (for a little while)
While the boys were away, Caroline and I had a great time! We went to build a bear, had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory, and watched movies in my bed at night. Caroline even got to come to my room at school and play every evening while I worked on school stuff. She loves doing this and enjoys playing with the beanie babies and drawing pictures.
We all had a good week, but it was so good to have everyone back together on Thursday! We missed Ryan and Steve and they missed us! It was a great time of bonding and hopefully we can do it again soon!

Caroline lost her 1st tooth!

Last night Caroline lost her first tooth!
It was a surprise to us all! She was upstairs with Ryan playing with baby dolls and baby doll bottles, when her tooth hit the bottle and popped out! It scared Caroline and it scared Ryan. Ryan cried for 20 minutes. It scared Steve and I too! We were unsure if it happened by accident or if it was time for her tooth to come out. After calming Caroline down she shared that her tooth had been hurting for 12 days! (made-up number, I believe) We found her tooth fairy pillow and explained the tooth fairy would come over night and leave her some money. I calmed Ryan down and told him Caroline would now get her big teeth. Ryan then started pulling on his own teeth saying he wanted big teeth too! We told him that would not happen until he turned 6 years old.
The tooth fairy came and left Caroline some money for her 1st tooth! Caroline was so excited and now loves her new smile!
Steve and I wondered what is the going rate for the tooth fairy these days?
How much did the tooth fairy leave you when you were a kid?
Caroline's new smile!

I was so sad for Caroline to loose her tooth last night. It is a big milestone for her, but it means my baby is no longer a baby. She is a six year old that keeps growing and growing!
